How do you meld a love of the technical – ham radio, model airplanes, with a love of the aesthetic – art and literature? That’s the question Rob Wheless was asking himself when he first got to college, majoring in English and leaning toward law. His freshman roommate was an avid photographer, and Rob quickly discovered the answer to his question and his life’s passion.

This led to his enrollment at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California, one of the top photography schools in the country. He received his BA degree three years later, graduating at the top of his class and earning the Brooks Institute’s prestigious Outstanding Achievement Award.

Returning to his home state of Georgia, Rob worked for the largest studio in Atlanta for two years before he started his own photography studio (cleverly named Rob Wheless Studio, Inc.). He has had the opportunity to work, both locally and nationally, with many corporations, advertising agencies, P/R firms, designers and non-profits, accumulating awards, Addys and accolades along the way.

Digital video production and nonlinear editing have been additions to his company offerings, as well as DVD authoring, compositing, retouching and XML slide-shows. Rob has a comprehensive understanding of design, composition, lighting, color theory, the ICC-profiled digital workflow, and the requirements of the reproduced image.

Following Jesus Christ, sharing life with his best friend and wife, Katherine, and being dad to his two wonderful daughters, Sarah and Elizabeth are Rob’s greatest joys. He loves to read, bike, watch movies, mess with Macs, and laugh.
