Michelle Potter

Michelle Potter (no relation to Harry) is an Atlanta-based public relations and marketing professional with more than 10 years experience working in the healthcare and nonprofit sectors and serving as an independent consultant for businesses.

From an early age, Michelle knew that she was a writer at heart. In elementary school, she created a newspaper with the latest breaking news on health, sports, society and entertainment. As she grew older, Michelle honed her journalistic skills on yearbook staffs, the college newspaper and several communications internships. She ventured to the Lone Star State for college and graduated with a degree in journalism from Baylor University in Waco. (No, she never met David Koresh in case you’re wondering.)

In her twenties, an opportunity arose to consider a career in missions. So she tested the waters by taking several short-term mission trips to the Middle East, Europe, Asia and Mexico. Meeting people of other cultures and writing stories about these adventures is what she loved the most – solidifying her calling as a communicator, not a full-time missionary.

In 1998, she launched her career specializing in public relations and development for hospitals and nonprofit organizations. An opportunity arose in 2006 to start a communications consultant business. Full Plate PR provides public relations and marketing services to small businesses, professional service firms and nonprofits.

Michelle grew up moving across the southeast every couple of years due to her father’s career. As an adult, she chose to put down roots with her husband in the eclectic, small town atmosphere of Decatur, Georgia.
